Dwarf Japanese Cedar - 17"x16"x21" (cryptomeria japonica 'globosa nana')
The Cryptomeria is a single species with a number of varieties. Thegenus is Taxodiaceae. In some ways they resemble the Giant Redwoods suchas Sequoia with the flaky bark and needle structure, but although theyhave flaking bark, Cryptomeria have a much harder wood than Sequoia andthe needles are longer in growth. The 'globosa nana' is a very low,weeping mounding conifer that is very slow growing. Our double-trunkspecimen resembles an overturned mop.
